Good Drivers Club (“GDC”, “we”, “us”) is a motor-insurance broking service operated by The Insurance Exchange Agency Pte. Ltd. (UEN 201201544N), a company registered in Singapore. This policy explains what personal data we collect, how we use and protect it, who we share it with, and the rights you have under the PDPA.
1. Who we are
GDC is a trade name and service of The Insurance Exchange Agency Pte. Ltd. When you obtain a quotation, buy, renew or service a motor-insurance policy through GDC, The Insurance Exchange Agency Pte. Ltd. is the entity responsible for your personal data (the “data controller”).
2. Personal data we collect
- Identity & contact details — name, NRIC/FIN (where required by insurers or the law), date of birth, gender, address, mobile number, email, and WhatsApp number.
- Government-verified data — where you choose to use Singpass/Myinfo, the identity, address and other fields you consent to share for your application.
- Vehicle & policy details — vehicle registration, make/model, No-Claim Discount (NCD), claims and driving history, existing and prior insurers, coverage and premium information.
- Documents — items you or insurers provide, such as NRIC/licence, log cards, NCD letters, quotations, certificates of insurance and policy documents.
- Communications — the content and metadata of messages you exchange with us across WhatsApp, email, phone calls and web chat, including attachments and voice notes.
- Usage data — basic technical information (e.g. device/browser, and message delivery/read receipts) needed to operate and secure the service.
3. How we use your data
- To prepare motor-insurance quotations and compare cover across insurers.
- To arrange, issue, renew, amend and service your policy, and to submit information to insurers on your behalf.
- To communicate with you — send quotations, renewal reminders, policy documents, payment links and service updates, and to respond to your enquiries.
- To meet legal, regulatory and insurer requirements (including anti-fraud, underwriting and record-keeping obligations).
- To improve and secure our service.
We rely on your consent and, where applicable, on the PDPA’s legitimate-interests and contractual bases for these uses.
4. Messaging you on WhatsApp
We use the WhatsApp Business Platform (provided by Meta Platforms, Inc.) to message you about your quotations, renewals and policies. When you message us or we message you on WhatsApp, the content is processed by Meta in accordance with WhatsApp’s Business Messaging terms and privacy policy. We message you only where you have engaged us or asked us to, and you can opt out at any time by replying STOP or telling us you no longer wish to be contacted on WhatsApp.
5. Who we share data with
- Insurers and underwriters — to obtain quotations and place, renew and service your cover.
- Technology & messaging providers — including Meta/WhatsApp, email and hosting providers, strictly to deliver the service.
- Government and regulators — where required by law or by the Monetary Authority of Singapore / General Insurance Association guidelines.
- Professional advisers — where necessary and under confidentiality.
We do not sell your personal data. Where data is transferred outside Singapore, we take steps required under the PDPA to ensure a comparable standard of protection.
6. Retention
We keep your personal data only for as long as necessary to fulfil the purposes above and to meet legal, regulatory and insurer record-keeping requirements, after which it is securely deleted or anonymised.
7. Security
We apply reasonable administrative, technical and physical safeguards — including access controls and encryption of sensitive data — to protect your personal data against unauthorised access, use or disclosure.
8. Your rights under the PDPA
- Access & correction — request a copy of the personal data we hold about you and ask us to correct it.
